As you continue to travel south from the West entrance, you come to the famous Geyser Basin. There are multiple trails here to take you to some of the famous icons of the park. It is suggested you research on the park’s web site, and plan your visit to catch one of Old Faithful’s displays.
As you come around the south end of the park on Geyser Loop Road, you will encounter Yellowstone Lake. Along the northern part of the lake, on the East Entrance Road, you may encounter one of the local bison herds that use the road as their own personal transit way. At 2000 pounds, they can pretty much do what they want.
