Not too far from Yosemite, you will find another wonder of the world, Sequoia National Park. Here you find trees beyond description. Some so large, that at one time, there was a road carved through the base. Despite many natural disasters, this grove of trees still endures.
If you plan well, you can make a week of seeing the sites in this part of California, from Big Sur, to Yosemite, to Sequoia. I suggest you always check the park web sites to see if there are any road closures due to natural disasters in the area (fire, floods). And please, show respect and leave the parks as you found them, for others to enjoy.
